About The Club

The Mornington Peninsula Toastmasters Club is a friendly, open, supportive and informal group of people who meet regularly with the main aim of having fun and developing communication skills. We meet in a great venue here in Mornington - a seaside village situated beside Port Phillip Bay, approximately 1 hour drive south of Melbourne city centre. Visit our meetings page for further information. The dress code is casual, although some do come straight from work in a suit and tie!

Feel free to join us as a guest, we will make you feel welcome. There is no pressure, you can join in at your own pace.

We have a good mix of men and women from all walks of life. Take a look here at our 'rogues gallery' - a few snaps taken around the club during the Dramatic Reading Competition from last year – hence the use of the lectern with heads down, and all seats facing the front.

Many of the first speeches by our members are done using the lectern, but as your confidence builds, you learn to work without the lectern, to engage the audience with better eye contact and use of body and voice.  It’s a great experience!

This Dramatic Reading Competition is one of 5 competitions held annually for Club Members to showcase their skills, and learn and grow in a more challenging environment. The other competitions include:

Each competition except for the Dramatic Speech advances to an Area, then Division, then District levels with the winner advancing at each level. The winner of the District International Speech Competition is invited to speak at the World Championship of Public Speaking at the annual convention in Washington DC – a convention attended by 2,000+ Toastmasters from around the world. What other personal development group provides you with so much opportunity? To find out more about the awesome development opportunities at Toastmasters, ask your host at your next club visit.
